The Mom's Choice Awards named Isabella Propeller and the Magic Beanie, "one of the best in family-friendly media, products and services."
"Isabella Propeller and the Magic Beanie" has received multiple awards in the two years it has been available: The Children's Literary Classics Award, The Cox Historical Fiction Award and a favorable review by The Midwest Book Review.
"Isabella Propeller and the Magic Beanie"
is the story of a young girl who happens upon a beanie while playing in her grandmother's attic.
Through a series of events, she encounters a woman who, legend has it, lives in a cave nearby and
possesses the gift of flight. Upon meeting the "wind keeper" Isabella receives the gift of a red
feather, along with the knowledge that she too possesses the gift of flying.
About Jonathan Graves:
John Aldridge published "Isabella Propeller and the Magic Beanie" under the pen name Jonathan Graves. The book was inspired by his grandchildren and the town of Blowing Rock with its unusual wind patterns and Indian legends. Telling stories started with his own children when they were young, and is now a tradition that continues with his grandchildren on the "story bench" in the garden of his Blowing Rock home.
