BREMCO works to restore power

High winds overnight and early morning led to outages for 1,061 members Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation.

Blue Ridge linemen restored the majority of the outages Friday night and are now on scene to repair damage and restore the remaining 27 members in Watauga and Ashe counties.

The majority of members affected are in Watauga County, where winds damaged 13 different areas of the electric system starting at 12:30 a.m. A total of 772 members were affected. In Ashe County, outages for 259 members began at 3:47 a.m., and in Caldwell County, 30 members were affected beginning at 1:13 a.m. No outages affected Alleghany County.

Blue Ridge Electric remains on high alert today, monitoring weather conditions. If members have outages, please report them to the cooperative’s PowerLine at 1-800-448-2383.
