Armed robbery reported at CVS
The robbery occurred at about 5:30 p.m. when a man entered the store, showed a gun to the pharmacy clerk and demanded prescription drugs, according to Sgt. Matt Stevens of the Boone Police Department.
Surveillance video showed the man approaching the store on foot from the area of Doctors Drive and running away in the same direction. The suspect was still at large as of Thursday night.
Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect, a light-skinned man wearing dark pants, a dark hooded jacket, red ball cap and sunglasses.
This is the second time in recent months that Boone's tranquility has been shaken by an armed robbery.
A Walmart cashier was robbed at the store by a masked man with a handgun just before 2 a.m. March 7. Shortly after the incident, police found the gun the robber wielded and determined that it was not real, but the suspect has remained elusive, Stevens said.
