ASU police seek copper thief

The Appalachian State University Police Department is seeking information about a break-in and theft at New River Light and Power.
Between 4 p.m. Sept. 22 and 7 a.m. Sept. 24, someone entered the storage area of the utility company at 143 Faculty St. Extension through a hole in the fence, according to police.
The person or group took six, 315-foot rolls of copper wire, a drive socket set and a set of truck keys with a fuel key.
Anyone with information about the crime is urged to call ASU Police Department at (828) 262-2150 or Crimestoppers at (828) 268-6959. If your information leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
