Watauga Farmers’ Market ends Saturday

Head to Horn in
the West for the final Watauga County Farmers’ Market of the 2012 regular
season this Saturday, Oct. 27, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Although the
winter season is knocking at the door, plenty of fresh greens, local meats,
baked goods and prepared foods — even tomatoes! — will be available from more
than 65 vendors.
PHARMN’s
children’s corner invites kids to make Halloween masks and paint pumpkins, and
Appalachian State University’s Sustainable Development program will present a
local food cooking demonstration.
The market will
return for two more weekends in late November. The special Holiday Markets on
Saturdays, Nov. 17 and 24, from 9 a.m. to noon. Stock up on holiday greenery,
décor, gifts and treats for special meals.
