High Country Writers to hear husband-wife team speak
National best-selling authors Joyce and Jim Lavene will be speakers at the Aug. 9 meeting of High Country Writers in Boone.
The meeting will take place at the Watauga County Public Library at 10 am. The public is welcome to attend.
“This dynamic husband and wife writing team has been publishing their books, ranging from mysteries, fantasies, romance and nonfiction, since 1999,” according to a news release from the organization.
Last year marked the Lavenes' 60th book in print.

Meetings are cancelled when the Watauga County Schools are closed for inclement weather.
