High Country Honda on Blowing Rock Road in Boone has begun construction on its new building on Blowing Rock Road. The building will be tailored to meet the look of the mountain region.

“High Country Honda has been in Boone for 13 years — the building has been here for over 50 years,” said Mitch Walters, president of the Friendship Family of Dealerships, in a statement.

The new building for High Country Honda has been in the planning process for months. Construction began in mid-August, and completion is targeted for early March 2013.

High Country Honda has been serving Boone and the surrounding area since 1999 under the Friendship Family of Dealerships. In 2011, High Country Honda received the Customer Service Experience Award from Honda Corporation.
