Grandfather Mountain and Linville Caverns are among North Carolina's top 30 visited attractions, according to an annual survey conducted by Carolina Publishing Associates.

The organization annually publishes a ranking of the most visited museums and historic attractions in the state.

Grandfather Mountain came in at No. 19 on the list, with 248,224 attendees in 2012. Linville Caverns landed at No. 25, with 172,414.

Topping the ranks was the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, which attracted 1.1 million visitors last year.

Rounding out the top five were the Biltmore House in Asheville, Discovery Place in Charlotte, North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro and Fort Macon State Park in Atlantic Beach.
