Dora and Diego on track for Tweetsie

Hola, amigos y amigas.

Meet the popular stars of Nickelodeon's hit animated preschool series, “Dora the Explorer” and “Go, Diego, Go!,” at Tweetsie Railroad during a three-day weekend June 22 to 24.

Dora the Explorer and her cousin, Diego, will meet, greet and pose for pictures with fellow adventurers from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the weekend.

Dora is a 7-year-old Latina heroine, whose adventures take place in an imaginative, tropical world filled with jungles, beaches and rainforests. Diego Marquez, Dora's cousin, is an 8-year-old action-adventure hero who loves nature and animals. Dora and Diego explore their world just as preschoolers do everyday, and their television shows actively engage audiences using a variety of learning techniques.

Tweetsie Railroad offers these special events and guest appearances in addition its the daily features of Wild West family fun, including a three-mile adventure aboard the famed steam-powered locomotive, a stroll through the streets of a Western town, a variety of amusement park rides, animals aplenty at the Deer Park Zoo, live entertainment and more.

Tweetsie Railroad is open seven days a week through Aug. 19. The park returns to the weekend schedule (open Fridays, Saturday and Sundays) from Aug. 24 through Oct. 28, including Labor Day Monday. The 2012 season ends Sunday, Oct. 28.

The park's regular hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., but will be open until 9 p.m. on July 4 and July 7, 14, 21 and 28 for Cool Summer Nights.

Daily admission is $35 for adults and $22 for children ages 3 through 12. Children 2 and younger are admitted free.
