Deadline for Christmas art contest draws near

A unique seasonal art competition is now in progress with a deadline for submissions just a few days away.

As part of the interactive, nondenominational community Christmas project known as Bethlehem & Beyond, now in its third year, the Nativity Art Contest will showcase the talent of local artists.

Children, teens and adults who wish to participate are asked to bring their work of art -- which relates to the birth of Christ -- to the Three Forks Baptist Association office building in Boone by the noon deadline on Mon., Dec. 3.

The art will be on display at Boone Mall Dec. 6-21 with winners announced in three age divisions.First-place winners in each age division will be awarded gift certificates from Cheap Joe's.


Categories are:

Children, age 9 and under; first place winner will receive a $30 gift certificate.

Juniors, age 10-15; first place, $40 gift certificate

Adults, age 16 and over -first place, $50 gift certificate


The office of Three Forks Baptist Association is located at 513 Jefferson Road in Boone. 

The contest is sponsored by Cheap Joe's Art Stuff of Boone in conjunction with Bethlehem & Beyond, a collaborative effort of churches in the Three Forks Baptist Association and others in the High Country area.
