Vincent gets reprimand for remarks
by Staff Reports
The Southern Conference issued a letter of reprimand to Appalachian State women's basketball coach Darcie Vincent for critical remarks she made about the officiating following a 61-54 loss at Davidson on Feb. 18.
The announcement was made in a news release on the Southern Conference's web site. It did not say what Vincent said.
"Like most Division I conferences, the Southern Conference has a strict regulation that prohibits coaches and administrators from making negative comments about the officials in a public forum," conference Commissioner John Iamarino said. "After speaking to Coach Vincent, I am confident this was an isolated incident; that she regrets it; and that she understands the proper avenues for expressing her concerns."
