Appalachian State University, founded in 1899, celebrated homecoming on Friday and Saturday.
Thousands of alumni traveled to Boone for the annual reunion and festivities, with this year’s New York City-inspired theme being “The Big APPle.”
Events included a pep rally with fireworks on Friday and a parade, tailgate party and football game versus Elon on Saturday.
The graduating classes of 2007, 2002, 1997, 1992, 1987, 1982, 1977, 1972 and 1967 and the Black & Gold Society (classes of 1962 and prior) celebrated reunion years at this weekend’s homecoming.
